Located in the heart of Ukrainian Village, This Week’s Find is a contemporary home designed by local architecture firm Studio Dwell. In the June 2005 issue of Chicago Magazine, the home was described as having a “mysterious facade” that “conceals light-filled rooms, sweeping views, and access everywhere to the outdoors”.

According Studio Dwell’s website, this home was built to accommodate a space that’s approximately twenty percent shorter than a standard Chicago property lot and surrounded by larger structures and a public alleyway. While the goal of the architect was to “create an urban retreat that provided privacy, yet was filled with natural light,” only 25 percent of the property’s windows provide exterior views; the rest are frosted glass or placed out of viewing height either along the ceiling or floor.

As for other features, the four-bedroom home has multiple outdoor spaces including a rooftop deck (see below), a wine refrigerator, a second floor gallery space, a home theater/media room, and a two-car attached garage. The Chicago Avenue and Damen Avenue bus routes are both three blocks away, and the Division Street dining and nightlife district is about a 15-minute walk.
