Boston Red Sox GM Theo Epstein House Hunting in Chicago
Sources have told UrbanTurf that Theo Epstein, the general manager of the Boston Red Sox, is going to start house hunting in Chicago soon. This news came before the Boston radio station, WEEI reported this morning that Epstein has agreed to take a position with the Cubs in a five-year deal worth more than $15 million.
In light of this news, UrbanTurf picked out a couple properties near the Friendly Confines that we think would be good fits for the 37-year-old Epstein, who’s married and has one child.

Living room of 3251 N. Lakewood Ave.
Even though this five-bedroom, 4.5-bath mansion in Lake View was built in 2009, it mixes modern features including an eat-in kitchen and a wine cellar with classic ones ranging from crown molding to custom built-in shelves. To entertain his players, Epstein could host parties on one of the home’s two large decks. If he’s looking to spend some time outside with his family, he can walk around the corner to a new playground that is being built (or also head to Wrigley Field for some batting practice). The home also comes with a two-car attached garage.
More details below.

- Price: $1.995 million

Game room of 3317 N. Lakewood Ave.
This five-bedroom, 4.5-bath home in the Southport Corridor was constructed by acclaimed Chicago builder Paul Peterson. The three-story, 5,000 square-foot house looks fit for a Chicago Cubs executive with vaulted ceilings, walnut hardwood floors, and a roof deck with a fireplace, full kitchen and bar. But UrbanTurf thinks the selling point for Epstein will be the 1,000 square-foot penthouse with a built-in library, bathroom, and a large space with enough room for a pool table and a wetbar.
